Japanese Cherry, or Prunus Serrulata, are native to Japan, Korea, and China. They have been widely used in the United States since 1912, when Japan sent a gift of cherry trees to Washington DC. Flowering Cherry is among the most beautiful of the spring blossom displays and every year tells us that spring is here. They grow well here in North Carolina and can be used as a single specimen, in pairs at entries and gateways, or in groups to really make a statement during their bloom season.
