The soil we have in North Carolina tends to be acidic and lime is often needed to sweeten the soil, or raise the pH.
Fescue lawns thrive when the pH is around 6.5 and we recommend having a soil test done to better understand whether or not lime is needed. Fall is a great time of year to apply lime, and it will help your lawn take in more available nutrients that are applied in the spring. This will contribute to having a healthier, nicer looking lawn next year.
